Geneva Journals- The Forbidden Colours

As I got to know about the concert at Villa Dutoit, I walked to the venue and took the first seat. A concert titled Forbidden Colours. Rudolf on the snare drums, Sandra Weiss on the bass,  Anna-Kaisa on Viola, Violeta Motta on hybrid flutes. This is a pure contrast to what I attended in the recent weeks. The past concert was more about fragile sensations playing with silences and sounds. This time, this concert plays with a lot of silence and noisy music. The lines got blurred between noise and music. What's noise and what's cacaphony? It's very interesting on how the sudden breathes, rhythmic noises and unconventional playing of the instrument with the play of distance produces a distinct sound. I spent 3 hours listening to these sounds. I found it hard to imagine the journey but, the noisy music journey is quite intriguing.

Later, I got a chance to catch up with the artists and when the musician began to speak english, I engaged in a conversation. I asked him about his journey. He mentioned that they're touring and this is the last place they're performing.

I asked about the journey of  Forrbidden colours. He said, there's a lot of improvisations.

"It's all about feeling." how do you chose instruments for this compostioon, I asked. He said, "it's all about feeling. Depend on what I feel, I use the instruments. These are sex toys, the vibration has a noise and I use them for this composition. It's fun."

How do you see tehchnology, I asked. Since it's all percussion and there's more edm noise.

"Sometimes. I use phone for  some music also, this time, I didn't use."

And he played some sound samples on hphoen.e I use it as instrumment onl.

Appreciating the oconversations, she saus, I udo this for the exchange. The exhjcamge etween audoience and performance. If not, I just don't want to performa a dwak wau. Thanks for coming, he said. It's my pleasure I mentioned. Greeted the villa Duitoit person adn wawalked away. A good day.
