NewYorkTimes article on Golshifteh Farahani

The Patience Stone- Movie

Iranian movies are mellow and realistic. Started with 'About Elly' and loving all the movies of Golshifteh Farahani.

The culture of the land and customs are told through subtle dialogues in the movie. According to Persian mythology,  the patience stone is of a stone one shares all the secrets, pains and it shatters relieving the suffering.  Her husband becomes her patience stone and rest is an interesting story.

Brilliant writing as well as direction. Atiq Rahimi created a piece that's as intriguing as well as dramatic.

Composer of the movie Max Richter composed well. His good decision to make the most of the movie silent is what emphasizes the small bits and pieces of music impactful. Loved it.

A happy meet.

It's a delight to meet college seniors after a very long time. It's super fun to meet people at different circumstances. I got a call on a Friday from Vedhashri regarding work. I was a bit worried to get work at the last minute during weekends.

Later, I meet her on Monday. Breaking the ice, she tells me, "I'm a mechanical engineer."
Before I could ask her which college she is from, I kept guessing the college she'd be. Guessed all colleges but not VNR.
"I'm from VNR."
I was perplexed. Which batch she could be. She seems to be familiar but couldn't recollect which batch she's into. She's of 2013 batch. The batch who ragged me on my first day. I could recollect all the seniors, Nikitha, Tejaswi, Sravya, Soumya, and then it's Vedhashri who was always there with them.

She never ragged so, didn't get a chance to know her.
Spoke about all the moments how I got ragged. How I felt elated being ragged by them. Shared about the faculty. Discussed how subjects were there.

It's an absolute delight to meet her in the workplace. Shared insider information on how things work.

Also, we have another associate who's the friend of our professor Shivraj Yeole. Three of us mechanical engineers gathered and were discussing all the subjects that were easy cakewalks and nightmares.

Wish I meet my gang now! They reminded me of all my college memories.

Have to vs Get to - Gratitude Tales

Change in words brings change in perceptions. This is the best motivating thing I've read today. Have to vs Get to.

While writing in a journal, when I write,

"I have to wake up. I have to work. I  have to play. I have to read. ............," it's more of things that I set it for myself. Things I take granted at times.

But, when I write, "I get to wake up. I get to work. I get to play. I get to read....." It seems more of opportunities. I feel abundant in life realizing I got so many things to do.

One of the many times when I see at her and get a smile looking at her. The moon.

To be grateful at every moment for the things we do, for things we have, for things we experience is a powerful habit that puts us in a positive space.

Bridge of Spies- Movie

Reading the Unending Game written by Vikram Sood, I got to know about this movie, "Bridge of Spies."

Reading about espionage, watching how events unfolded is interesting. Steven Spielberg and team did a commendable work.

Stories on Wheels

Drive with childhood friends.

Always up for a ride. Always up for a conversation. Of all the experiences I've I always seek goodness, good will.

As I was standing at a highway seeking for a ride, old person stopped and signalled me to get in. His body language seemed positive. Casual tone was welcoming. His words seemed vague. With a doubt in mind, I stepped into the back seat of car since there's another old man sitting front.

Opening the door, I dropped a box and I was bit embarrassed. Settled in few seconds, I looked at them and didn't speak a word.

I don't start a conversation since that's turn against me only. People may get intimidated if I start a conversation and ask about themselves.

They seemed old but their music choice wasn't old. Melodious Hindi songs were played. It was a Rexton a luxurious vehicle. He seemed settling and driving.

They were talking between themselves. I didn't speak a word. After an hour or so, I enquired about their destination. He was surprised to listen to me since he forgot that he gave a ride.

"Anduke lifts ivva nenu,"  said Sudheer. Talking about so many things, they spoke about  chief minister's of Tamil Nadu. Thanks to heavy coverage of The Hindu, I could see the lineage.

I got a chance to talk about it a bit.
I became a Bakra for you since you got ride right till your door step." He chuckled.

I shared my hitchhiking hobby. Person next to him took a interest and started talking.

Later, I got to know they're childhood friends. Friends since 49 years. wow! Prabhu and Sudheer reminded of the conversations I have with my friends.

With heavy dialect of Hyderabadi Hindi, they shared lot of conversations.

Sharing our qualifications, we realised we have two mechanical engineers under the roof. Prabhu is a electrical engineer from Machilipatnam college. Sudheer from CBIT.

We have a whole gang. The gang is still there. It brought a smile on my face.

Asking about their work. With much calmness and gentle tone, we do agriculture.

It was a delight moment to listen to it.

I got reminded of my friends whom I share same rapo with. Thanks alot Sudheer and Prabhu. Had great time riding with you both. Wish the friendship stays forever

I stayed silent. I opened my head

Goodachari- Movie

Good suspense thriller.

I loved the way people are coming up with different stories. A tight screenplay and interesting plot. Loved the movie.

There are a couple of things which really seemed irritating. Despite Shobitha Dhulipala's has one line dialogues, was hard to put up with the heavy dialect of her. Songs really never had any impact in the movie. Background score is the important reason why this movie is as great as it is. Kudos to the composer Sri Charan Paakala

Quote of the hour

“I am not who you think I am; I am not who I think I am; I am who I think you think I am ”
― Thomas CooleyInscriptions: Prairie Poetry

Jay Shetty quoted this during one of his interviews. This lines precisely says how we assume others perceptions on us and lead our life. Thomas Cooley put it better.

"I am not who you think I am; I am not who I think I am; I am who I think you think I am."

Here one validates others' perceptions on themselves and tend to grow up basing on their perceptions.

This quote is worthy of discussion and debate.

Interesting read.

Mark Manson talks about drown proofing, a very interesting perspective and insight on how US Seal selects people who are really worthy to be their team.

His writing is pellucid to me as I can totally get what he means. He writes whatever I mean. And I mean whatever he writes except those slangs ;)

The Intern Original Sound Track

Theodore Shapiro is the composer of these tracks. Absolutely puts me in good mood every time I listen to this.

Les Deus Amis-TWO FRIENDS- Movie

Clement loves Mona. Mona loves Clement. But like every love story,, something or other comes up as a conflict. Mona lives in a prison and doesn't have time or energy to be with someone. To hang out someone. Clement doesn't know that and insists to come out with him.

Every good fellow has a friend who's a rebel and adventurous. He plans to abduct her and the story begins.

Very well acted. This is very subtle and sweet. This movie tells how girls can be and boys are.
Golshifteh Farahani is love.

Movie- Shubh Mangal Saavdhan

New age movies are a safe way and a great relief from larger than life movies and hero worshipping movies.  These movies are very relatable. Cheers to the director on sharing the story which is not discussed mostly anywhere. Ayush Khurrana is good at being a common man with common problems. I loved the way the story got turned into a love-arrange-love story. These small & subtle things sets the story apart giving another feel to the story. Heartthrob Shashaa Tirupati's song Kanha was the central musical theme.  Tanishk Bagchi, a new name that came up as I saw the composer of the film. A good watch.
