This Day That Year- June 14

There are few days that ring bells in my mind without thinking much about what importance this day holds. June 14 is another such day. As I reflect on June 14, in early 2010s I remember June 14 as Madhvi's birthday. The last time I met Madhvi was in Hyderabad very randomly. 

On June 14 2017- While I was getting ready to attend office wearing white shirt and grey pants, I got a call from Prudhvi about Madhu's accident.Madhu left us to heavens to a road accident along with his cousin.  Prudhvi, Vikas, Uday, Saket, Akhil, Naveen & I  headed to Karimnagar immediately leaving everything behind. Just before Madhu getting on the bike, he texted Prudhvi on a casual banter. We were recounting how normal everything was until the previous night and a lot has changed by morning. Prudhvi got the Fortuner instead of Swift Dzire which we drive through for all our tournaments and seasons. I remember the car drive vividly trying to not raise the topic until we reached Madhu's home. When he was killed in a road accident, he was in basketball shorts, the usual attire we are in post-afternoons in college. In 2012, In the first year of college Madhu and I bought same basketball jersey which I wear it even till today.

June 14 2019- I left Hyderabad to Sirohi and was spending my days at Kalandri Summer Camp. At home, Mikey was brought to home as a birthday gift to Dad.

June 14 2020- Living in Sirohi, lockdown was as smooth as it could get as I was living amidst Aravalli ranges enjoying the landscapes every day and night. In contrary to what people were feeling in cities, Dyu and I were having great space at Sirohi trying to stay balanced in the most tough times.

June 14 2021- I was getting ready to leave Sirohi and head to Jaipur. The summers were mostly spent at Pallavi and Geetika's house. The first oil pastels I ever tried were gifted by Geetika. Thanks Geetika. I was also pampered a lot with delicious food everytime I'm at their home. 

                   

June 14 2022- I was at home post my uncle's untimely death. 

June 14 2023- Prudhvi was in Delhi and suggested a long car drive to Hyderabad. I jumped onto the idea and got on the first train I could get in Jaipur to head to Delhi. Together, we began our drive stopping at Gwalior to rest for the night. A memorable drive.

June 14 2024-I was in Geneva dabbling with Vinyl records and walks to Sun flower fields. 

June 14 2025- I submitted my thesis, a 6 month long work I was passionately working on.
