Geneva Journals- The Avocado

These days I regularly eat avocado and was curious about it's story. Avocado is a local fruit in America which was domesticated 5000 years ago. Guacamole is one dish that's popularly known. As it's so popular, avocados are exotic in tropical countries, back at home. Reading more on it, I discovered that Mango had the same fame in 1990s. When people in the west were going wild with tropical's favourite Mango in 1990s, I always took the fruit for granter. 'Aam phal ka Raaja hai- Mango is the king of fruits' I learnt this line in one of my Hindi language classes. I wondered who is the Queen of the fruits. Anyways, these days, avocados became the staple diet, thanks to Avocado farmers who popularized it around the world.
