Art & Geneva- Flutiste Charmeur
The place is always well maintained with alot of different flowers. It's surprising to see spider web on this statue. It's a famous statue of Flutist Charmeur from 19th century. It's a bronze sculpture made by Daniel Bourcart in 1881. In 1903, The sculpture was donated by his sister to City of Geneva to be placed at the foot of Villa Plantmour at Mon-Repos Park. The villa got turned into Henry Dunant Institute and then the office of Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue and currently, I'm not sure who owns this Villa. As per the donor wishes, this statue was placed here and has always been a touristic attraction. The statue seemed to be vandalised and got resculpted by David Chojnacki who seems to be called as doctor in foundry repairing and resculpting all the broken sculptures.
