Friends- Dinner with S
There are a few people whom I shared about my exhibition and I know that a few would be very happy for me and put efforts to share the happiness. As soon as S got to know about my new solo exhibition, he made an effort to catch up, spend time, share conversations. S pitched an event to attend and we managed to make time and attend it.
Soon after the lovely event, S and I began to walk around appreciating the neighbourhood. As we looked at this mural, a lot of stories flashed by. I was thinking of Tajmahal while S thought of cherry blossom and shared the story-
Centuries ago, in Japan, during spring season, a samurai was collecting cherry blossoms to find out the perfect cherry blossom. He used to collect alot to find the perfect one but never could find that one perfect cherry blossom during his whole life time. Atlast, when he was on a battle field and was killed by opponent, he was falling on the ground and as he just fell on the ground, a cherry blossom was also falling on the ground. In such last moments of his life, he saw the perfect cherry blossom falling along with him. At that moment, he had an epiphany that all the cherry blossoms he saw were perfect in their own way. He was wasting time in comparing them rather than finding the perfection in it's own way.
A very late realisaton, I thought.
'Sometimes it takes a life time to realise that cherryblossoms are perfect in their own way!' S sighed walking beside and showing me the way to the station. Thanks S for sharing this story with me. Talking on stories, he said, 'when people do not have time to sit with me and talk. At the least to be be honest and share a word in my happy moments or despair moments, why do they deserve to be aware of all that's happening in my life?'
I wished to grieve for all the friends who are connected but decided to stay away from us in life. On that note, we shared a train journey and were clueless of where to head for dinner. Both of us were terrible in deciding. S gave an option of Kebab and Burger. I struggled to choose in between both of these and settled on Kebab and headed to our signature place.
A little bit of french ordering and we got back onto our conversation spree. Good day.
