Art & Geneva- La Flamboyante
I walk a lot in Geneva. Whenever I walk, I encounter a lot of art and try to read up about it on the go or whenever I have some free time. I've decided to map all the art objects I encounter in Geneva here.
I came across a lot of bronze sculptures. As I began to think of this series, I was at Place Des Bergues, a stone's throw away from Bel Air Bus stop. I spotted a statue- La Flamboyante right across Starbucks Coffee shop. The piece viewed from multiple view points gave me a sense of fluidity and convergence. Without sharp curves, the art seemed to be in motion standing on a small pivotal point. This bronze sculpture is made by the artist Antoine Poncet in Italy at Carrara region in 1980.
In artist words, the piece seemed to be signify the blossoming of a flower on a meadow of asphalt.
