Geneva Journals- Skate Park Symphony
I heard a lot about Geneva Camerata's orchestra for their innovative nature in their performances. As I got a chance to attend the show, I was excited about it. This time, the orchestra was playing Mozart's compositions while they collaborated with La Troupe UMA, the parkour-skateboarders for the show. Nicoals Music choreographed the scenes. David Greilsammer conducted the orchestra.
In the beginning, I couldn't understand who's who. As the performance began, the musicians were moving around and performing. The dancers in their greys, a woman in bright red dress and all the musicians in funky jackets. It's very well composed and coordinated. Each person is doing atleast two to three things at once. The musicians are performing while they're playing their instruments. The skateboarders are performing in sync with the musician's performance. It's a well orchestrated show. I never imagined that I'd see a conductor in a t-shirt and violinist wearing sport jackets. Person next to me got a Osmo pocket 3 and recorded the whole performance while I was trying my best to not use the phone to record it. However, recorded few pieces. A few things that amused me is the skill with which musicians were performing Mozart's composition while they were jumping, moving and acting. Fabulous show. Looking forward to more of their performances.
