Technology- Instagram and it's shady design.

In the digital era, we had forums, then came the social media websites- Orkut, Facebook and many more. Now we have Be Real, Snap Chat, X, Instagram and a lot more. I could see that all of us, are actively engaged in communities, mostly on digital platforms. The conversations are always happening digitally. When we are connecting digitally, we could be members of many communities but, are we really contributing? Our attention has become the major contributing factor to the community. Our views, likes, shares are the engagement factors. I could observe that Instagram is struggling to retain it's users on the platform now. It's trying it's sneaky design to keep the user hooked to the app. For instance, when a user click on a particular post, there's feed opening up where one needs to either swipe up or down to go onto the particular post. If the algorithm nudges the user to do swipe up or down 3 times a day, weekly, the user would slowly slide down into habit of doom scrolling for long time. 

These small nudges have become scary signals for me to stay on these platforms. I'm curious what more changes would be made to grab our attention.
