Geneva Journals- The Harmonie Nautique Spring Concert
Harmonie Nautique is back with their spring concert. One of my favourite orchestras in the town performs only twice a year. On spring and on autumn. It's a 140 year old band and comes up with very interesting orchestral performances. Under the direction of Eric Haegi along with Vincent Courbin, the clarinetter player, the performance took off with classic pieces. In the first set, the drum set was placed right next to the conductor podium. I was amused by such set up. There was a piece where clarinet and drums duo was performed. A bit of Jazz, a bit of classics. A wonderful feast to all the audience who attended the spring concert.
The first time I attended the concert in November 2023, I spotted a hunched up veteran clarinete player playing with rigor. I'm awe struck by his energy and skill to perform continuously at big stage at such age. I could spot him today as well. As ever, the performance received standing ovation and a lot of applause. At the end, Eric conducted two pieces which were so groovy. Loved those two pieces.
