Book- Louise Fishman

I got this book at contemporary art museum of Geneva. I skimmed through the book and found the colours very attractive and forms very intriguing. I decided to pick this book, curious to know more about the artist.

Louise Fishman is an abstract artist born in 1939 in United States of America.  Words on her work gave a glimpse of Reading her thoughts on her work and seeing her work in print, I could sense the raw energy she put in colours.

I really liked few thoughts on her description about calligraphy and painting-

"Calligraphy is nothing more nor less than thte physical record of "a particular way of using my arm and hand and body in the work... relying on my willingness to let my body make the marks that were natural to it and allow that to actually construct the piece." Like the 15th century painter Shen Chou she might say, "I can only trust the ahnd as it flicks on the colours."
